Why This Programme Matters
The Reality
- The global UX design market is projected to grow from USD 8.6 billion in 2024 to over USD 29 billion by 2030, driven by the explosion of digital products, apps, and immersive experiences across every industry.
- Mixed reality, virtual production, and spatial computing are creating entirely new creative professions that didn’t exist five years ago; professionals who can work across physical computing, VR, and real-time media are in acute short supply.
- Malaysia’s Creative Economy Master Plan identifies interactive and digital media as a priority growth sector, with active government investment in creative industry development.
- Every major technology company — from Apple to Meta to local Malaysian tech firms — is hiring design and creative media talent at scale to build the next generation of digital experiences.
The Education
This degree is built at the intersection of creativity and technology. The curriculum covers the full creative production spectrum — digital illustration, typography, 2D and 3D animation, audio production, video production, UX and UI design, visual effects, mixed reality, virtual reality, responsive environment design, physical computing, and digital fabrication. Every module is oriented around producing real, portfolio-quality work.
By graduation, students have a body of creative output that demonstrates professional-level capability across multiple disciplines. What makes this programme distinctive is the combination of depth and breadth — students graduate as complete creative technologists, able to move fluidly across disciplines and lead creative projects from concept to completion.
The AI-Native Learning Experience
In 2026, AI is transforming every creative discipline. Generative design tools, AI-assisted animation, intelligent UX testing, automated video editing, and real-time rendering optimisation are now standard in leading creative studios and technology companies. This degree integrates AI tools throughout the learning experience, ensuring graduates arrive in the workforce already fluent in the creative AI tools that studios and agencies expect.
